Photography is often prohibited inside churches. Always ask for permission before taking photos of religious sites or ceremonies.

Only men are allowed to enter the chapel where the Ark of the Covenant is said to be kept. Women must remain outside. Dress modestly and remove shoes before entering.

Try injera (a sourdough flatbread) with tsebhi (spicy stew). Tibs (grilled meat) and shiro (chickpea stew) are also popular. Coffee is a must-try, often served in traditional ceremonies.

The stelae park is usually closed at night. Visit during daylight hours for the best experience and safety.

Greetings are important. A handshake with the right hand is common, often accompanied by a slight bow. Close friends may kiss on the cheeks three times.

Support local artisans by buying handmade crafts. Use reusable water bottles with purification tablets. Respect wildlife and avoid littering at historical sites.
